25-30 modules of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh spread across India?
NEW DELHI: Investigators probing the Burdwan blast case have found that 25-30 modules of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) are suspected to be spread out across the country, particularly in West Bengal, Assam and South India.

Besides, the module in Burdwan managed to transport six IED consignments to Bangladesh to be used for terrorist activities, they added.

Investigators are trying to find out whether the explosives, found in Burdwan, were exclusively meant for Bangladesh or to be used somewhere in India, the source said.

Sources said, during his meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is believed to have conveyed to her that the porus International Border with Bangladesh and easy access to explosives in West Bengal must be tackled jointly by state nd central agencies.

Doval, along with National Security Guard chief Jayanto Choudhury and NIA chief Sharad Kumar, visited Burdwan blast site today and later met the Chief Minister.

The NIA had said the accused persons arrested in the Burdwan blast case and their associates were members of terror group JMB, who were preparing IEDs for transporting them to that country for possible terror attacks.

Two persons--Shakil Ahmed and Suvon Mandal alias Subhan-- both hailing from Bangladesh, were killed while manufacturing IEDs. One person Abdul Hakim alias Hassan was injured and arrested besides three others including two women.
