2 blasts in Bongaigaon, no injury

Two bomb blasts by ULFA rocked lower Assam's Bongaigaon district.

GUWAHATI: Two bomb blasts by ULFA rocked lower Assam's Bongaigaon district Saturday morning, a day after the three serial blasts in the state during Independence day celebrations.

Official sources said the first explosion took place at 8.10 am beside a police check point at Swahidbedi area of Bongaigaon town.

The next explosive went off five minutes later at Paglathan, the sources said.

Police officers rushed went to the sites of the blast. On Friday two persons were injured in three serial blasts near parade grounds in Chirang and Dhubri districts of the state.
