$2 billion loan to Bangladesh to be used for infrastructure, social sector
NEW DELHI: The $2 billion Line of Credit (LoC) that the Modi government will offer to Bangladesh — highest LoC so far by India to any country at one go — during the June 6-7 visit will be used for the development of infrastructure and social sectors including river waterways, rail and road transport, power generation, upgrade of ports, health and education.

An agreement for the LoC is expected to be signed during the visit over the next weekend, diplomatic sources indicated. This is the second LoC that would be offered to Dhaka after the first one of $1 billion was extended in 2010 when Sheikh Hasina was here.
