1,987 cops affected by Jammu and Kashmir floods, Rs 9.94 crore aid sanctioned: DGP
Director General of Police (DGP) K Rajendra Kumar today sanctioned "soft welfare loan" of Rs 9.94 crore for the police personnel affected by the floods.

Director General of Police (DGP) K Rajendra Kumar today sanctioned "soft welfare loan" of Rs 9.94 crore for the police personnel affected by the floods.
The soft loan has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund, which is completely a contributory fund of the organisation.
The decision in this regard was taken at a welfare meeting held under the chairmanship of DGP at Police Headquarters in Jammu.
Rajendra said that the recent floods caused heavy damages to the property of the people including the properties of police personnel.
He said the decision was taken, in relaxation of standing welfare rules, to provide immediate succour to the affected police families.
Rajendra said in first phase Rs 3.5 crore has already been sanctioned and distributed among 715 flood-affected police families last month.
The DGP said in the second phase, more such personnel were considered for the relief after scrutinising their cases on the basis of recommendations from the concerned officers.
"The cases were found genuine by the managing body of welfare committee and Rs 50,000 each sanctioned in favour of affected personnel," he said.
