19 trains cancelled, several others diverted due to Jaat stir

The cancelled trains included Bareilly-Delhi-Bareilly Express, Delhi-Kathgodam-Delhi Uttaranchal Express, Delhi-Ramnagar-Delhi Exp and Moradabad-Delhi-Moradabad passenger among others.

NEW DELHI: As many as 19 trains bound for the Northern states from the city were cancelled today and several others diverted through other routes due to agitation by Jaat Mahasabha over the reservation issue in Moradabad and Firozpur railway divisions.

The cancelled trains included Bareilly-Delhi-Bareilly Express, Delhi-Kathgodam-Delhi Uttaranchal Express, Delhi-Ramnagar-Delhi Exp and Moradabad-Delhi-Moradabad passenger among others.

The agitation in Firozpur division was, however, called off later in the day.

According to a Northern Railway spokesperson, more than 30 trains were also diverted through alternative routes following the agitation, which entered the third day today.

Railways have already announced cancellation of 19 trains tomorrow.

They include Bareilly-Delhi-Bareilly Express, Delhi -Kathgodam- Delhi Uttranchal Express, Delhi-Ramnagar-Delhi, Bareilly-Bhuj Ala Hazrat Express among others.
