RANCHI: Security forces today averted a Naxal trap as they destroyed a 15-kg improvised bomb in the West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.

The incident occurred early morning when a squad of CRPF along with state police personnel was out on a patrol in the Karampada-Jambaiburu and Kiriburu forests of the district, officials said.

A 15 kg claymore mine, six blasting triggers and four detonators were seized during the operation, they said.

The improvised bomb was defused later and a possible Naxal ambush trap was averted, they said.
