13/7 serial blasts case cracked: Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad
The Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad has said that the Mumbai serial blast of July 2011 has been solved. ATS has arrested two persons in this connection.
Maharashtra ATS chief Rakesh Maria said it obtained leads on the persons involved in the serial blasts after detailed investigation by ATS teams which went to 18 states in the past few months. The two accused were picked up in Darbhanga, with the cooperation Bihar police who provided information. The two arrested for their involvement in the serial blasts are Naqi Ahmed Shaikh (22) and Nadim Akhter Ashfaq Shaikh (23).
They are accused in the theft of two scooters that were used to plant bombs at Opera House and Zaveri Bazar in Mumbai, on July 13, and of carrying the explosives from Delhi to Mumbai and arranging for mobile phone SIM cards for other accused in this case.
The 13/7 serial blasts case was handed over to Maharashtra ATS on July 18.
