NEW DELHI: Thirteen complaints of misuse of land allotted to non-government organisations (NGOs) at concessional rates have been received by Delhi Development Authority ( DDA) since 2013, Lok Sabha was informed today.

"In 13 cases, complaints have been received by DDA (for misuse of land by NGOs)," Minister of State for Urban Development Babul Supriyo said in a written reply.

Most of the societies against whom the complaints have received are related to education sector.

The complaints against the societies range from illegal constructions and encroachment to misuse of premises.

"Whenever any violation is noticed or complaint received regarding violation of lease terms, the action for cancellation of lease deed/allotment is taken after inspection of the site following due process of law," Supriyo said.
