113 cases of attack on journalists in 2014: Government

As many as 113 cases were registered and 30 people arrested for attacks on journalists in different parts of the country in 2014, Rajya Sabha was informed.

NEW DELHI: As many as 113 cases were registered and 30 people arrested for attacks on journalists in different parts of the country in 2014, Rajya Sabha was informed today.

The highest number of such cases (63) were registered in Uttar Pradesh where four persons were arrested in this connection last year, Minister of State for Home, Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary said in reply to a written question.

Bihar has registered 22 such cases in which three people were arrested while Madhya Pradesh registered seven cases (10 arrested) and Maharashtra five cases (6 arrested), he added.
