105 more villages electrified; total 7,654
Of these, six belong to Arunachal Pradesh, 33 in Assam, 12 in Jharkhand, 9 in Rajasthan, 23 in Bihar, 5 in Chhattisgarh, 3 in Odisha , 1 each in Manipur and Himachal Pradesh, and 12 in Uttar Pradesh.

It has set a target of electrifying 18,452 villages by May 1, 2018.
"105 villages have been electrified across the country during last week (May 2-8, 2016) under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojna ( DDUGJY)," Power Ministry said in a statement.
Of these, six belong to Arunachal Pradesh, 33 in Assam, 12 in Jharkhand, 9 in Rajasthan, 23 in Bihar, 5 in Chhattisgarh, 3 in Odisha , 1 each in Manipur and Himachal Pradesh, and 12 in Uttar Pradesh.
The project has been taken on a mission mode and strategy includes squeezing the implementation schedule to 12 months and dividing the process in 12 stage milestones with defined timelines for monitoring.
"7,654 villages have been electrified till date," the statement further said.
In order to expedite the progress further, a close monitoring is being done through Gram Vidyut Abhiyanta ( GVA) and various actions are also being taken on a regular basis, it added.
