NEW DELHI: Continuing with the Swachh Bharat drive, Union Urban Development Ministry has taken initiative to install 1000 toilets in the market places, slums areas around railway stations in the state capitals to make it open defecation free.

These toilets in pink colour were contributed by Parryware, a bathroom products manufacturer, as part of its corporate social responsibility on the occasion of the Women's Day, according to UD Ministry.

"I would like to thank Parryware for actively contributing towards the Swachh Bharat Mission and safe sanitation for Women. While women safety has always been on top of our agenda while devising sanitation plans, this contribution will set an example for other corporates to join the mission," said UD Joint Secretary Praveen Prakash, who is also the Mission Director for Swachh Bharat Mission.

He further said "I hope this is just a start and with everyone's support, we can achieve a nationwide open defecation free status soon."
