10 security men hurt in Maoist clash
Many of the Maoists were suspected to have been injured during the encounter, but they were taken away by their colleagues

LAKHISARAI/SHEOHAR(BIHAR): Ten security personnel were injured and as many went missing during an encounter with Maoists in Bihar's Lakhisarai district, police said.
"Ten personnel of Bihar Military Police (BMP) and State Auxiliary Police (SAP) were injured when the Maoists fired at them while they were carrying out a combing operation against the rebels in Ramtalnagar village," District Magistrate Manish Kumar said.
The injured were rushed to Patna Medical College Hospital, he said.
Though one of the injured told reporters in hospital that four BMP personnel were killed in the encounter, senior officials are yet to confirm it.
Ten members of the combined force comprising CRPF, BMP and SAP men went missing following the encounter and it is feared that they might be kidnapped by the Maoists, police said.
"Three sub-inspectors, two havildars and five constables have not returned to their base camp after the encounter was over," DGP Neelmani said in Patna.

Meanwhile in Sheohar district, Maoists kidnapped Tariyani Block Development Officer Manoj Singh from Ladhoura village where he had gone for an official visit, Neelmani said.
The Maoists intercepted the BDO's vehicle and took him away to an unknown place on motorcycles, he said.
The driver of the BDO's vehicle and a public health centre employee accompanying him were also reported missing, the DGP said, adding that efforts are on to rescue the BDO.
In another incident, police detained six suspected ultras after an encounter with the rebels who blew up a mobile tower in Rajebazar area in East Champaran district last night.
