NEW DELHI: About 10 per cent of sanctioned posts of President and members are vacant at the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Rajya Sabha was informed today.

The vacancy stood at 17 per cent at the district level, Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan told the Upper House during Question Hour.

Replying to a question, he said 44 per cent posts of President and members are vacant in Andhra Pradesh.

Figures of the number of cases filed, disposed and pending show that 89.86 percent of cases filed before the Commission at the national level have been disposed off, while 86.19 percent of cases have been disposed at state level grievance redressal commissions.

The grievance redressal is the maximum at the district level with 92.19 per cent cases disposed off.
