1 dead, 1 injured after under-construction roof collapses at Bhubaneswar airport
Senior officials of the state government and politicians rushed to the site. Khurda Collector, Sitanshu Kumar Rout said a dog squad had been used to make sure no other person as trapped under the rubble.

The incident occurred around 11pm at night killing one person and injuring another who is being treated at the nearby government hospital.
The concrete roof of a passage linking Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 of the airport was reportedly being cast on Friday. An employee of the construction company, said to be Dillip Construction, told the media, the work had nearly been completed during the day and a few laborers were at work (and not injured) and safety measures had been taken, he claimed, unable to explain what may have gone wrong
The deceased was reportedly a helper and the injured a driver, according to television channels reporting the accident.

The Airport Authority of India had not released any official statement at the time of filing this report.The accident comes embarrassingly a day after the city hosted a major event, organised by the civil aviation and the Odisha government to enhance air connectivity from the state. It is unlikely to however affect flight operations at the airport.
