SIT flags cash theft in Ram Mandir donations

SIT preliminary report on Ram Mandir donation embezzlement case | The report states prima facie, around 70 suspicious incidents captured on CCTV between April 27 and June 5, 2026. In CCTV footage, counting staff seen concealing wads of cash. Recovered cash, valuables and disproportionate cash deposited in banks further prove this.

The report also states that no frisking at entry/exit, poor control over personal belongings, and cash from multiple donation boxes counted together were some of the reasons made the crime possible.

Russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine's capital kills at least 11

Russia launched waves of missiles and drones targeting Kyiv early Monday that killed at least 11 people, authorities said, hours after Ukraine’s president warned that a large-scale attack was imminent.

Another 60 people were wounded, according to local officials, as emergency workers combed through rubble looking for survivors at residential high-rise buildings in two locations that suffered direct hits.

The new attack came days after a Russian strike killed 31 people in the capital on Thursday, the deadliest for the capital this year. Russia’s Defense Ministry said the bombardment was retaliation for Ukraine’s recent long-range strikes, which have caused severe fuel shortages and pressured President Vladimir Putin. (AP)

Search operation launched after suspected Pakistani drone sighted along LoC in J-K

A search operation was launched early Monday after a suspected Pakistani drone was sighted over a forward village along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, officials said.

The drone-like object, fitted with a blinking light, was observed over the forward villages of Meenka and Beripattan in the Sunderbani sector late Sunday, they said.

According to officials, the suspected drone briefly entered the Indian side before returning across the LoC into Pakistan.

Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation at first light to check whether the drone had dropped any payload, such as narcotics or weapons, officials said.

Russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine's capital kills at least 7

Russia launched waves of missiles and drones targeting Kyiv overnight into Monday that killed at least seven people, authorities said, hours after Ukraine’s president warned that another large-scale attack was imminent.

Another 24 were wounded, said Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv’s City Military Administration in a post on Telegram.

A residential building in the Podilskyi district partially collapsed, he said. In the Darnytsia district, several multistory buildings were damaged and people were believed to be trapped under the rubble.

“These are residential buildings. Places where people slept and lived their ordinary lives,” he said.

The attack, which was still underway early Monday morning, involved waves of ballistic and cruise missiles as well as drones. Explosions echoed across the city as civilians sought shelter in metro stations.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had warned hours earlier of another large-scale Russian attack on the city. Monday's attack comes days after a combined Russian attack killed at least 31 people in Kyiv last week.

Zelenskyy renewed calls for Western partners to bolster Ukraine’s air defenses, particularly by supplying more Patriot missiles, saying that failing to replenish them only emboldens Russia to prolong its four-year war, in a post on Telegram late Sunday.

Russia pounds Kyiv with ballistic missiles as blasts rock capital; Ukrainian strike cuts power in Sevastopol

More than ten explosions rang out in Kyiv early Monday during a ballistic missile alert, according to an AFP journalist on the scene.

Russia has routinely launched waves of missiles and drones at Ukrainian cities during its more than four-year invasion, Europe's deadliest conflict since World War II.

"The enemy is striking with ballistic missiles," Tymur Tkachenko, the head of the Ukrainian capital's military administration, wrote on Telegram.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that air defences were in operation and urged people to remain in shelters.

Ukraine has also stepped up long-range drone attacks inside Russia in recent weeks, targeting energy infrastructure and military targets.

Mikhail Razvozhayev, the governor of Russian-annexed Crimea, said Monday that electricity had been cut to Sevastopol following a Ukrainian attack on energy infrastructure near the city.

"Following an enemy attack on energy infrastructure near Sevastopol, our city was temporarily left without electricity," Razvozhayev wrote on Telegram.
