Breaking News Live Updates: Explosions were heard in Kyiv early Thursday as Russia launched a fresh wave of drone and missile attacks across Ukraine, a Reuters witness reported.
Kyiv authorities said debris fell in the courtyard of a residential building after an earlier drone attack alert was issued. Officials were assessing the extent of the damage.
Ukraine’s Armed Forces separately issued a ballistic missile alert for the capital.
In Kryvyi Rih, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s hometown and a major steel-and-mining hub in central Ukraine, missile strikes injured two people and hit an industrial facility, officials said.
Three more people were wounded in Zaporizhzhia, according to local authorities.

Israel considers expelling British officials from post-war Gaza headquarters: Report
Israel is considering expelling British, and possibly other European officials, from the U.S.-led coordination centre for post-war Gaza, the Financial Times reported on Thursday.
The Israeli government in recent weeks has discussed removing the UK from the International Gaza Support Center, the multinational headquarters established to monitor the U.S.-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, the newspaper said, citing people familiar with the matter.

Karnataka forms cabinet panel under UT Khader to recommend education reforms in one month
Bengaluru: Karnataka Govt has constituted a five-member Cabinet Sub-Committee to examine challenges faced by students and recommend comprehensive education reforms, with Minister UT Khader as Chairman. The panel includes Higher Education Minister Basavaraj Rayareddy, Home, IT&BT and E-governance Minister Priyank Kharge, Medical Education and Skill Development Minister Sharan Prakash Patil, and School Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa. The committee will examine examination and recruitment integrity, education fees and coaching regulation, infrastructure and quality in public institutions, curriculum and skilling, student mental health and wellbeing, and access and equity. The panel will consult students, parents, teachers and other stakeholders across Karnataka and may seek assistance from subject experts. It has been asked to submit its report within one month.

Falling debris damages vessel in Ukraine's port of Reni, authorities say
A civilian vessel was damaged overnight at the Danube River port of Reni near Ukraine's Izmail, local Ukrainian authorities said on the Telegram messaging app on Thursday.

IIT Delhi forms external panel to probe death of 31-Year-Old MSc Physics student
IIT Delhi has constituted the final external inquiry committee to probe the death of a 31-year-old MSc Physics student. The committee will be headed by Justice Mukta Gupta, Retired Judge, Delhi High Court. It will also comprise Prof Pratap Sharan, Head, Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS New Delhi, four student representatives, and the Registrar as Secretary and Convenor. The committee will discuss the matter with relevant students, faculty, and concerned administrative offices, review protocols and processes, and make recommendations.
