Zwigato Trailer: Kapil Sharma admits he never thought Nandita Das would offer him a film

Kapil Sharma's film Zwigato, helmed by Nandita Das, will hit the theatres on March 17. The makers of the social satire released a new caravan ahead of its release. With just one look, you'll be convinced to see this non-comic avatar of India's most popular comic, Kapil. Filmgoers have already reacted positively to the film at the Toronto and Busan International Film Festivals.

During the trailer launch, Kapil stated that he never expected Nandita Das to offer him a film. According to him, he has always been a fan of the director and has viewed her flicks Firaaq and Manto.

When Nandita offered him the film, he inquired as to why. Kapil stated, “When Nandita told me the story, I asked her why, and she said that even if a global superstar like Shah Rukh Khan says yes, I will not make it with him. Your face is that of a common man (which is ideal for the character)”.


Meanwhile, Kapil will be seen as a delivery agent named Mansa, while Shahana will be seen as his wife Pratima. The plot revolves around a food delivery agent who is struggling to support his family.

Kapil Sharma has previously appeared on the big screen in films such as ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ and ‘Firangi’. However, both films failed to launch Kapil's acting career, and he was forced to rely on his comedic abilities to entertain the audience. Sameer Nair's Applause Entertainment and Nandita Das Initiatives collaborated on the production of Zwigato.
