Zomato's savage reply to Pak meme on India's Asia Cup loss

The Pakistan handle of a delivery service app tried to troll Zomato over India's Super 4 match loss at the Asia Cup, and got back more than what it bargained for.

Shortly after Pakistan defeated India by five wickets in a last-over thriller at the Dubai International Stadium, Careem Pakistan tagged the Indian food delivery app saying, "Humney tou order k lye phone kia tha (We just called for an order) @zomato."

The punchline was in the text of the meme: "Yeh to kisi ke rone ki awaaz hai( It's the sound of someone crying).


That line and the still used in the meme is from the 2000 Priyadarshan-directed Bollywoood film Hera Pheri, where Babu Bhaiya, Shyam and Raju are on the phone.

A day later, Zomato hit back Zomato hit back at Careem Pakistan, saying, "Meme template tou apne use karo (Use your own meme template, atleast)

Pakistan won by five wickets over India with one ball left in their Asia Cup Super 4 match on Sunday, thanks to a solid half century by Mohammad Rizwan and a quickfire 42 to Mohammad Nawaz. India also dropped a sitter in the final stages to let their archrivals scamper home.

It was India’s first loss in the tournament as Pakistan avenged its five-wicket defeat in the Cup opener. India now needs to win both its remaining matches to qualify for the final.
