Zomato takes a dig at Pakistan with 'Real Bean' tweet for loss against Zimbabwe

The “fake Pak Bean” is Pakistani comedian Asif Muhammad, who was invited to a comedy show in Harare in 2016.

After Pakistan shockingly lost to minnows Zimbabwe by one run in their second match at the T20 World Cup on Thursday, their players and skipper Babar Azam have been trolled mercilessly online.

One of the trends for memes was a "fake" Mr. Bean from Pakistan, who visited Zimbabwe in 2016. It began with a tweet from a Zimbabwean fan, Ngugi Chasura, who commented on a PCB tweet ahead of the match that his team would take revenge on Pakistan for sending a fake Mr. Bean. The reference was to a Pak actor who resembled Mr Bean and toured Zimbabwe in 2016.

Pakistan lost the closely fought game, and Ngugi and other Zimbabweans got their revenge. As soon as the game ended, social media went crazy over the “fake Pak Bean” theme and started trolling the Pakistan team and Babar Azam. Even Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa joined in the fun and jibed, "Next time send the real Mr Bean."

Joining the trend, Indian food delivery platform Zomato took a light-hearted dig at the Pakistan team and tweeted, “beans are a real match-winning food.”

The “fake Pak Bean” is Pakistani comedian Asif Muhammad, who was invited to a comedy show in Harare in 2016. A popular doppelganger of the famous Rowan Atkinson character Mr. Bean, he performed, attended road shows, and made a part of the Harare Agricultural Show.
