Zomato Food Delivery Scam: Enjoy Rs 1k food for just Rs 200, says delivery agent
A LinkedIn user was told by a Zomato delivery agent that if he pays in cash, there is a way to scam the company easily. The user posted about the food delivery scam on LinkedIn where the Zomato CEO took note of it.

A LinkedIn user claimed that a delivery agent has suggested a hack to scam Zomato indicating how delivery agents are supposedly running a scam.
Vinay’s post mentioned Zomato CEO Deepinder Goel and asked if he was aware of the issue. The delivery agent suggested that Vinay should not pay online and should rather opt for Cash On Delivery (COD).
Vinay Sati, an entrepreneur as per his LinkedIn profile, had ordered food from Burger Kings. The Zomato food delivery scam that the delivery agent revealed while delivering Vinay’s food gave the entrepreneur ‘goosebumps’. However, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal in his response said that Zomato is trying to fix the loopholes.
The delivery agent said that the next time he orders for Rs 700-800, the agent will tell Zomato that the customer refused the order but will give him the food anyway. All he wants from this is Rs 200-300. That way Vinay could enjoy food worth much more for just Rs 200.
Netizens were of the opinion that the loophole is not in the model but in the mindset. One user pointed out that many of us have cancelled cab rides and paid the driver directly after he insisted.
