Traffic movement in central Delhi is likely to remain affected on Sunday in view of the South Africa vs Zimbabwe T20 World Cup match at the stadium. The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory detailing diversions, parking regulations, entry arrangements and app-based taxi movement, and has advised commuters to plan their journeys in advance and use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.

Heavy traffic is expected in and around the stadium area, particularly on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg and ITO Chowk. Commuters travelling from New Delhi Railway Station have been advised to factor in possible congestion.

ZIM vs SA: Affected roads and diversions

Traffic movement may be regulated or diverted on the following stretches:


JLN Marg from Rajghat to Delhi Gate up to R/A Kamla Market (both carriageways)
Asaf Ali Road from Turkman Gate to Delhi Gate
Bahadurshah Zafar Marg from Delhi Gate to Ramcharan Aggarwal Chowk (both carriageways)

Diversions and restrictions may be imposed on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg and JLN Marg as required. Vehicles may be diverted depending on traffic conditions, except emergency vehicles.

Heavy vehicles will not be permitted from Daryaganj to Bahadurshah Zafar Marg and from Guru Nanak Chowk to Asaf Ali Road.

No vehicles will be allowed to park on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, JLN Marg and Ring Road from Rajghat to IP Flyover (both carriageways). Vehicles found parked in violation will be towed away and prosecuted as per law.

Passengers using app-based cab services have been advised to coordinate with drivers in advance and follow directions issued by traffic personnel deployed at these locations.

Parking arrangements for ZIM vs SA match

There is no parking for the general public near the stadium except limited space for labelled vehicles. Display of a valid parking label on the windscreen is mandatory. The vehicle number and mobile number of the driver or owner must be written on the label. Vehicles without a valid parking label will not be permitted near the stadium.

Labelled parking locations are as follows:

P-1: JP Park (Opposite Gate No. 3) — Four-wheelers
P-2: Vikram Nagar Parking (Adjacent to Shahidi Park) — Four-wheelers
P-3: Near JJB/Prayas Office — Two-wheelers
P-4: GLNS School (Deaf and Dumb School) — Near JJB/Prayas Office

Entry for labelled parking will be allowed only from the Vikram Nagar cut on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg near Shahidi Park.

Free parking is also available at Mata Sundari Road, Rajghat Power House Road and Velodrome Road. A free park-and-ride facility will operate from these locations to the stadium.

Key junctions likely to witness congestion include Gate No. 2 near Maulana Azad Medical College on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg (ITO to Delhi Gate carriageway) and Rajghat Chowk.

The Delhi Traffic Police has requested motorists to remain patient, follow traffic rules and cooperate with personnel deployed at major intersections to ensure smooth movement.
