The police were alerted to the matter after the video was shared on social media. According to reports, ACP DLF Vikas Kaushik said, "It appears they did not have any permission, and the act was done without any safety measures in place." He went on to note that such videos have become more prevalent, and are often made to gain popularity on social media, putting the safety of commuters at risk.
Both Kalsi and Lucky have been arrested at the Sushant Lok police station, and charged under sections 279 (rash driving), 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), and 283 (obstruction in public way) of the IPC. The police noted that the fake currency notes in the video had a fictitious name of Manoranjan Bank inscribed in them. The incident highlights the dangers of reckless driving and the need for safety measures when creating content for social media.
