Many joked about the now-familiar ritual of rushing to Twitter to check if others were facing the same problem. One user wrote, "Everybody running to Twitter to see why YouTube is down."Another shared their disbelief at the rare crash, saying, "i dont even remember the last time youtube went down wtf." "saving yall the energy yes youtube is down and here is a cute cow with some bows on to help u feel better," wrote a user on Twitter.
"I knew I should’ve went here first 45 minutes of refresh/restart wasted #YouTubeDOWN," posted another user.
"A YouTube engineer who hasn’t worked a real day since he was hired clocking in for his shift to find the site down worldwide #youtubedown," another one read.
Some users humorously described their frantic troubleshooting attempts before realising the issue wasn’t on their end. One more equipped, "Me just refreshed my page 14 times, toggled my Wi-Fi twice, and restarted my phone, only to find out YouTube is just taking an unannounced nap. Unbelievable!"
YouTube outage reason
YouTube said on Tuesday that some users were experiencing issues accessing the video-sharing platform, after outage-tracking website Downdetector reported global outages. Reports suggest the outage was global, with many users encountering the familiar “Something Went Wrong” error message while trying to stream content. YouTube TV was also reportedly affected during the disruption. “We’re aware some of you are having issues accessing YouTube right now. Our teams are aware, and we’ll provide updates as soon as we have them,” YouTube said.
There were over 150,000 reports of outages in the U.S. at 9 pm ET, compared with the peak of over 320,000 users an hour earlier, Downdetector showed.
