Radhika Ojha, a student from Shiv Nadar School, Noida, received an award for her initiative, 'Project Raahat.' Project Rahat seeks to replace adverse architecture with urban designs that consider society's vulnerable, including school guards, bus drivers, laborers, children, and the elderly.
"Project Rahat" uses traditional terracotta craftsmanship and sustainable design to create naturally cool pavilions, redesigned bus shelters, and humane guard pods. These spaces provide relief from extreme heat and encourage community interaction. The project supports local artisans, preserves cultural heritage, and aligns with India's commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
“This recognition reflects not just my effort but the values instilled in me by my school—compassion, creativity, and responsibility. It reminds me that young voices can reimagine urban spaces—not as concrete jungles but as havens of dignity, comfort, and inclusion. At Shiv Nadar School, I found the courage to turn this vision into reality,” Ojha said.
The summit highlighted the innovative spirit and dedication of young individuals in addressing important issues within their communities.
