"You actually want to show up, work harder"
Describing the effect a good manager has on her outlook, Kasar said, "Can we talk about how much having a good manager affects your whole life? Because when your manager is genuinely kind, humble, and understanding, you don't wake up thinking, 'Ugh, I have to go to work, it's so bad.' You actually want to show up, work harder, and do better, simply because you respect them. And honestly, I got so lucky with mine. So, this is a little shout-out to all the good, humble managers out there. You make work, honestly, life so much better."Her comments point to a broader idea: that workplace culture is shaped not solely by salary, deadlines or job responsibilities, but significantly by the relationship employees share with those who manage them. According to Kasar, a supportive manager fosters an environment where employees feel respected and motivated, rather than perpetually anxious about showing up to work, underscoring the central message that management style can directly influence an employee's overall wellbeing, both at work and beyond it.

Mixed experiences shared by other users
The video prompted a wave of responses, with several users sharing their own contrasting or affirming experiences. One user described a more complicated situation, writing that while their manager was supportive, the environment created by a difficult Head of Department left them feeling anxious and, on some days, requiring real effort just to go to work. They noted that a good manager alone wasn't enough to offset the impact of a broader toxic dynamic within the organisation.
Another user echoed Kasar's sentiment enthusiastically, saying they had been searching for the video specifically to share their own experience, describing genuine excitement each day at the prospect of seeing their supportive, understanding manager, adding a lighthearted note about receiving daily compliments on their perfume from him.
