‘Yodha’: Raashii Khanna opens up about her character in upcoming film, working with Sidharth Malhotra

Actor Raashii Khanna, who is making a splash in the Hindi circuit these days, got talking about her Bollywood film Yodha with actor Sidharth Malhotra. Raashii, who was recently seen in the Prime Video web series Farzi toplined by Shahid Kapoor, thinks she "looks amazing" on screen with Sid Malhotra.

The World Famous Lover actor was speaking to Pinkvilla in an interview, where she spoke about starring in Dharma Productions' Yodha next. She is glad that she gets to play a "strong character" in the Karan Johar film and that it is not a role just for the sake of it.

Raashii is also excited to work opposite Sidharth Malhotra in Yodha, and thinks they look good together on screen. She expressed the same to Sidharth about a scene they did together, and he agreed that they looked good, she said.


Raashii Khanna has starred opposite the biggest of heroes in south Indian cinema, including Vijay Deverakonda, Jr NTR and Dhanush.

With Yodha, Raashii's dream of working in a Karan Johar production has come true. But it is not the usual glamorous Dharma heroine that she is playing. The actor assumed that she would get to wear beautiful sarees for her scenes and shoot at picturesque locations. But that was not the plan for Yodha, as her "strong character" has not been portrayed in a typical "pretty" and "happy" manner.

She has now told KJo that he needs to cast her in a film where she gets to drape a saree and be the "typical Dharma heroine".

She also spoke about the nepotism debate, and said if she has made it through in a Dharma Productions film, then "It is not just for insiders anymore…you can make your way through."
