Xiaomi, the Chinese multinational electronics company, has joined hands with Amazon to introduce their first-ever smart TV in India, powered by the Fire OS operating system. This partnership aims to provide Indian customers with more options and diversify Xiaomi's product range in the country.

Xiaomi has already established a reputation in India for making smart televisions more accessible, featuring the Google Android TV operating system and a customised MIUI for TV interface with an advanced content recommendation engine. The new development will allow Xiaomi to expand its offerings to include a custom Fire OS, similar to what has been seen from other brands like Onida and even Amazon with their Amazon Basics smart TV.




While the company has not provided many details about the upcoming Xiaomi Smart TV, it has been confirmed that it will have a bezel-less design, possibly with a higher screen-to-body ratio. One of the teasers also reveals that it will run on the Android-based Fire OS.

It is expected that the new Xiaomi Smart TV will remain exclusively available on Amazon, according to a Twitter post. The company has also teased the user interface, which appears to be very similar to the UI featured on the latest Amazon Fire Stick and Fire Stick 4K.

Xiaomi's recent launch of the Stick TV 4K with Android TV 11 OS, which can convert a standard monitor or TV with an HDMI port into a smart TV, has received positive feedback from Indian consumers. The introduction of the new smart TV powered by Fire OS is expected to generate a similar response from customers in the country.
