Xiaomi has launched its new 17 Series, featuring the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the Xiaomi 17. Both devices are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. The phones continue Xiaomi's partnership with Leica for their camera systems, which Xiaomi describes as a "Strategic Co-creation Model." The Xiaomi 17 starts at €999 (approximately Rs 1,07,400), and the Ultra is priced at €1,499 (approximately Rs 1,61,100).

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra features a 1-inch LOFIC main camera sensor, named the Light Fusion 1050L. It also includes a 200MP Leica telephoto lens with mechanical optical zoom capabilities. Video recording options include Dolby Vision and ACES Log at up to 4K 120fps on both the main and telephoto lenses. Despite its camera hardware, the Ultra measures 8.29mm thick and weighs 218.4g.

The standard Xiaomi 17 is equipped with a Light Fusion 950 sensor for its main camera and a Leica 60mm floating telephoto lens. It also has a new 50MP front camera with autofocus. The phone measures 8.06mm thick and weighs 191g, housing a 6,330mAh battery. Charging is supported at 100W wired and 50W wireless.

Both models feature custom OLED displays with a peak brightness of 3,500 nits and 1–120Hz LTPO refresh rates. The Ultra has a 6.9-inch display with Xiaomi's HyperRGB subpixel layout, while the standard model has a 6.3-inch screen with 1.18mm bezels.

Xiaomi also introduced the Leica Leitzphone, powered by Xiaomi, priced at €1,999 (approximately Rs 2,14,900). This device celebrates Leica's 100th anniversary and shares camera hardware with the Ultra. It features a nickel-anodized aluminum body and a physical Leica Camera Ring. A Leica Essential mode is also included, designed to replicate the appearance of classic Leica cameras.

Accessories for photography enthusiasts include a Photography Kit (€99.99) and a Photography Kit Pro (€199.99). These kits are designed to enhance the phone's camera functionality.
