'X-Men' cast unveiled at D23

Marvel Studios has officially unveiled the principal cast of its upcoming ‘X-Men’ reboot, confirming several major stars and the mutant characters they will portray.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced the cast during the D23 presentation, putting an end to months of speculation surrounding the new mutant saga. Sadie Sink had previously been confirmed as Jean Grey following her introduction in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, while reports had linked Kit Connor and Inde Navarrette to the project.

‘X-Men’ cast revealed

The confirmed cast includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm and Adam Driver as Nathaniel Milbury, the human identity of Mister Sinister.

The film will be directed by Jake Schreier, who previously directed Marvel Studios’ ‘Thunderbolts’.

Adam Driver joins ‘X-Men’ as Mister Sinister

One of the biggest surprises at the presentation was Adam Driver’s casting as Mister Sinister. Driver appeared in a video message to reveal that he will play Nathaniel Milbury, the identity associated with the mutant geneticist and supervillain.

Driver said he and Feige had been discussing a potential collaboration for years and described the upcoming ‘X-Men’ film as the right project at the right time.

Cyclops, played by Connor, is one of the X-Men’s most prominent leaders and can fire powerful optic blasts from his eyes.
