Australia has already qualified for the Final after winning the third test of Border Gavaskar Trophy in Indore and for the second position, India and Sri Lanka are contesting. If India wins the final test in Ahmedabad of the series, it qualifies for the WTC final. However, If India plays a draw or loses the match and meanwhile Sri Lanka whitewashes New Zealand in the two-test series, Sri Lanka will play against Australia.

If Sri Lanka wins both the Test matches against New Zealand, their PCT will rise to 61.1, which will enhance their chances of qualifying for the WTC final. India not winning the test would put their fate in the hands of Sri Lanka’s performance.
