Speaking in an interview with the Russian state news agency Tass, Dmitry Medvedev described Washington's actions as "a war by the US and its allies to preserve global dominance." Russian political philosopher Alexander Dugin has escalated his rhetoric amid the intensifying Middle East conflict, asserting that “World War 3 has begun.” He further cautioned that the global situation could deteriorate if Iran falters under continued military pressure.


In statements reported by the Russian state-backed outlet RT on X, Dugin declared: “WW3 has begun” and reiterated, “Again.” His comments came in the wake of coordinated US-Israel strikes targeting Iranian military positions.

“If real patriotic reforms do not start in Russia now, the situation will become simply unpredictable. Our allies are being systematically destroyed one by one. It is clear who is next and it is clear what negotiations with such an enemy mean.”

Medvedev on US-Israel strike on Iran

The United States and Israel launched “Operation Epic Fury” on February 27, targeting Iranian missile facilities, naval bases and sites near Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s office. Khamenei and some of his family members were killed in the strikes, confirmed state media.

Medvedev said the attack showed Donald Trump's “true colours” and claimed negotiations with Tehran had never been genuine. “No one was ever really interested in negotiating,” he wrote on Telegram. Immediately after the strikes on Iran, Russia called the attacks “a preplanned and unprovoked act of armed aggression against a sovereign and independent UN member state.”

Russia warned that the attacks could trigger a “humanitarian, economic and possibly radiological catastrophe” in the Middle East. They also accused the US and Israel of “plunging the Middle East into an abyss of uncontrolled escalation.”
