History of the World Television Day

In 1927, Philo Taylor Farnsworth made the first electric TV. He was an American inventor. W3XK, the first mechanic TV station, debuted in 1928.Charles Francis Jenkins was behind this broadcast. In 1996, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) declared the 21st of November as World Television Day.

Why did World Television Day come into being?

UNGA created this day to make people aware of the impact and usefulness of television. People could see everything in and around the world right from their abode.

In one word, people celebrate the invention and significance of television on the 21st of November every year. Though time has changed a lot and many innovations have taken place worldwide, television hasn’t lost its importance.
