World Television Day: History and significance

Television has been an integral part of human lives since its invention. Be it entertainment or relevant information about different things and countries, we get everything from television. No doubt, we thus have a World Television Day and it is being celebrated every year on this day - i.e. November 21. This is an excellent way to remember the impact of television on our lives.

History of the World Television Day
In 1927, Philo Taylor Farnsworth made the first electric TV. He was an American inventor. W3XK, the first mechanic TV station, debuted in 1928.Charles Francis Jenkins was behind this broadcast. In 1996, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) declared the 21st of November as World Television Day.

UNGA created this day to make people aware of the impact and usefulness of television. People could see everything in and around the world right from their abode.
