Days after a video showing a woman crying as her husband could not afford a gift worth Rs 12,000 went viral on social media, the woman has come out with a clarification saying that she was 'genuinely emotional'. The woman in the viral video has broken her silence while thanking her supporters for standing by her. In a video circulating on social media, the woman says, "Wherever I am seeing on social media, it's my video..it's all over social media. I am getting a lot of calls, DMs and my inbox is filled with messages."

"Be it WhatsApp or Instagram, the video has spread like wildfire on social media. Itna viral karne ki kya zarurat thi? (What was the need to make the video so much viral) I am happy that people are not saying anything wrong about the video...I want to make one thing clear, if people are wondering whether the video was scripted or fake, I would like to clarify that it was genuine," the woman can be heard saying in the video.

In a fresh video, the woman says a fake or scripted video can be pointed out, she says, emphasising that she was totally emotional in the video. "The video is real, and only real video has been made viral. But please stop it now, I don't want to see it again and again. My head is paining now," she said.

Recently, a video went viral in which a woman was seen crying because her husband could not buy her a gift worth Rs 12,000. The video sparked a heated debate across social media, who have shared their divided views. In the footage, the woman is visibly upset and questioning her husband. She says, “Nahi hai paisa (There is no money)." She adds, “Mere ko koi chiz pasand aayi aur wo Rs 12,000 ka tha. Mai us dukan mein ek ghanta rahi thi (I liked something, and it was worth Rs 12,000. I waited at that shop for an hour)."

The husband responds, “Humko nahi pata tha (I didn’t know)," to which she replies, “Kaise pata hoga? Pyar hai jo pata hoga (How would you know? If it was love, you would know)."

She continues crying, saying, “Kya pasand hai, kya nahi – koi matlab nahi hai tumko. Subha se uthkar tumhare liye lage raho. Tumse baith kar baat bhi nahi kar sakte (You don’t care what I like or don’t like. I work all day for you. I can’t even talk to you properly)." The man is then heard apologising to her.

The clip elicited sympathy from many viewers, with one user commenting, “Sara din inke liye khana banao, kapde dho, bache paida karo or inse 12k ka gift bhi nahi diya jata (She cooks all day, washes clothes, raises kids, and still isn’t given a 12K gift)."

“That’s why financial independence matters for everyone, regardless of gender. You don’t have to depend on anyone for your needs, whether it’s parents, spouse, or anyone else. When you’re financially independent, you own your life and don’t suffer like this," someone else added.

Some viewers defended the husband as they pointed to financial pressures and exhaustion. A person wrote, “Men work 8 AM to 8 PM. Come home exhausted. No water. No care. Only entitlement. Marriages rot like this in 2026."

“Imagine a man working at a call centre whose wife demands a Louis Vuitton bag and whose son demands an iPhone 17 Pro Max. He ends up feeling hopeless. Families should respect each other and avoid demanding things they cannot realistically afford," read another comment.

Others, however, questioned the authenticity of the video. One remarked, “Zero IQ public falling for another scripted rage bait." They suggested the clip may have been exaggerated to provoke reactions online.
