Woman spends Rs 1.6 lakh on dog's Kindergarten in China, see how social media reacts

A woman in China has grabbed online attention after reportedly spending 12,000 yuan (around Rs 1.6 lakh) to enrol her six-month-old Samoyed in a specialised dog kindergarten, according to a report by the South China Morning Post (SCMP).

What the Package Includes

The programme offers personality assessments to better understand the dog’s temperament, along with behavioural training to address issues such as barking and aggression. Pets also take part in social activities designed to help them interact comfortably with other animals.

Additionally, the service includes daily pickup and drop-off facilities, while pet meals are charged separately.

Real-Time Monitoring and Health Care

Pet owners can monitor their dogs through live online access. The kindergarten also ensures regular health check-ups, adding to the premium nature of the service.

The dog’s owner, identified as Taotao, said her busy work schedule influenced the decision.

“I am usually too busy with work and do not have much time to keep it company,” Taotao told Cover News.

Growing Pet Industry in China

The report highlights the rapid growth of China’s pet industry. As per the 2026 China Pet Industry White Paper, urban pet consumption reached 312.6 billion yuan (approximately $45 billion) in 2025 and is expected to exceed 405 billion yuan by 2028.
