Tamil Nadu woman pours boiling oil on husband after he stops her from working

A 30-year-old woman was arrested in a village near Kattumannarkoil in Cuddalore on Wednesday for allegedly pouring boiling oil on her husband after he refused to let her go to work, reported TOI.

The accused, K. Divya Bharathi, was booked under three sections of the BNS following a complaint lodged by her husband, C. Kannan, 41.

According to police, the couple often quarreled as Kannan, who runs a borewell-digging unit, opposed his wife’s desire to work at a nearby rice mill. On Wednesday, after one such argument, Kannan went to sleep. Divya Bharathi, while boiling oil for cooking, carried the vessel to the room and poured the hot oil on both his legs below the knees.
