Will take 500 years to buy a house: Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke actress Aanchal Khurana reveals Rs 70,000 monthly rent for her 1 BHK Mumbai flat and gives a peek into her 13th-floor home

MTV Roadies 8 winner Aanchal Khurana, who later appeared in shows including Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke and CID, recently gave fans a tour of her Mumbai home. Unlike the lavish celebrity home tours frequently shared on social media, Aanchal’s vlog offered a candid look at the realities of living in Mumbai, where she pays Rs 70,000 a month to rent a 1 BHK apartment.

Her home, located on the 13th floor, comes with a very different view. Instead of lush greenery or the sea, the apartment overlooks a sprawling chawl stretching into the distance. Despite spending more than 14 years in the entertainment industry, Aanchal joked that buying a home in Mumbai remains a distant dream.

In her recent vlog, the actress described the property as a modest rented home that also accommodates her collection of luxury handbags. “This is a rented house. Due to inflation and the situation of the industry, it will take at least 400-500 years to buy a house,” she said, revealing that she pays Rs 70,000 in monthly rent. “And this is no aesthetic house,” she added.

A tiny, overstuffed kitchen

Aanchal began her home tour by showing viewers the kitchen, which she described as small and packed with belongings.

“This is our tiny kitchen, which is overstuffed with stuff. This is also where I keep my washing machine.”

She then showed the view from the apartment, which overlooks a sprawling chawl. Reacting to the scene, she joked, “What can we do? Itne budget mein itna hi milta hai,”

Luxury bags in a modest home

The actress then took viewers through her cupboards, where she stores her clothes and collection of designer handbags. Pointing sarcastically towards the bags, she said, “I don’t own handbags at all.”

She went on to show some of the handbags in her collection, including pieces from YSL, Gucci, Michael Kors, Coach and Louis Vuitton.

Bedroom, storage room and a makeshift guest space

Aanchal also showed her bedroom and another small room used primarily to store clothes and designer bags. The space also doubles as an area for her puja.

She then showed another part of the apartment where a bed has been placed for guests. However, she joked that the space also serves as a spot for drying clothes.

The actress also pointed out a tiny table in the apartment and jokingly referred to it as her “bar”.

Aanchal Khurana on the pressures of the TV industry

Aanchal is currently part of the Colors TV show Tu Juliet Jatt Di. She rose to prominence after winning MTV Roadies 8 and later moved into acting, appearing in shows including Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke and Bade Achche Lagte Hain.

The actress has also previously spoken about the pressures and uncertainty of working in the television industry. Reacting to the death of TV actor Sanchita Ugale, Aanchal wrote, “Another actor has died by suicide. Channels want TRPs, producers want to save budget, and the audience wants entertainment. But has anyone ever thought about what an actor goes through?”

She added, “Even a small issue can lead to replacement. If you refuse to sleep with someone, you get replaced. If you argue and protect your self-respect, you get replaced or your workdays are cut. Has anyone really thought about what actors or influencers are going through, the ones dying by suicide?”

Speaking about the uncertainty actors face, she said, “Every morning we wake up with hope, give an audition, and every evening we go to sleep after facing comparison and rejection.”

Aanchal also said she had faced rejection despite delivering good auditions.

‘I was also under a lot of pressure and stress’

“This has happened to me too. Even if your audition is good and you are a performer, they will still reject you for Rs 1,000. And if you are not willing to flirt or do anything inappropriate, they will replace you. That’s very easy for them,” she said.

She concluded by urging people dealing with pressure and loneliness to stay close to their families.

“I request you all—whenever you feel that life is over and nothing will work out, go back home. That’s exactly what I do. Right now, I am in Delhi with my parents because I was also under a lot of pressure and stress. Being alone, this depression can consume you. And trust me, neither the producer nor the channel will come to your help. These are the most selfish people. Please stay close to your family,” she said.
