Shah Rukh Khan, the king of Bollywood, is back on the big screen with 'Pathaan'. It has broken several box office records in India and abroad, with the South market being a major contributor. The bigger question is whether Pathaan can compete with Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu, Ajith Kumar's Thunivu, Nandamuri Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy, and Chiranjeevi's Waltair Veerayya, which are all currently in theatres.

The films starring Vijay and Ajith Kumar were released in theatres on January 11 and have since set the box office on fire. They are doing exceptionally well, but here is a look at how much they earned on Day 15 after the release of Pathaan.

Many have been impressed by Vijay's film's phenomenal box office run. The hit Tamil film has already become the actor's second-highest-grossing film, setting new records for him. According to early trade reports, Varisu earned 1.35- 1.50 crore India net for all languages on the 15th day of its release. With this, the film's total earnings stand at Rs 156 crore. On January 25, Varisu had a total Tamil occupancy of 23.88%.

Thunivu's start has been greater than Varisu. The film's initial numbers suggested that it would far outperform Varisu. However, in an unexpected move, Vijay's film quickly gained traction in the first week, leaving Ajith's film far behind. Ajith's film reportedly earned Rs 1 crore on the 15th day of its release, bringing the film's total earnings to over Rs 109 crore. Thunivu had a total Tamil occupancy of 26.08%.

Meanwhile, 'Thunivu' is on track to become Ajith's highest-grossing film, surpassing Valimai's collections. Ajith's portrayal of the 'boss man' steals the show in the action-packed starrer Thunivu. He has held people hostage in a bank. Police are seen attempting to determine his identity. However, it is a slow-moving mystery. Ajith Kumar plays a slightly negative character in the action thriller, and he impresses the audience.
