While Royal Enfields are seen as the not just the coolest but the old school muscle machine that most Indian youth yearn for. But Rahul, in an interview, said that he would prefer the Yamaha RD350 over the Royal Enfield anyday. Nonetheless, he did not stop there. He had reasons to back up his claims. The senior Congress leader said that he does not like the brakes of their Royal Enfield neither does he enjoy the handling of the motorcycle.
His preference — the RD350 — is also named among the legendary classic motorcycles of all time. Rahul said that he enjoys the punch RD350 offers in its higher rev range. But is Yamaha RD350 Rahul’s favorite bike? No. The Congress leader, now working towards realigning the grand old party of India, said that his favorite bike was the one he owned while working in London — an Aprilia RS250.
Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ aims to cover a distance of 3,500 kilometers over the course of about 150 days. He had begun the yatra by visiting his father Rajiv Gandhi’s memorial in Tamil Nadu where the former Prime Minister had been killed.
