Tina Dani paused for a brief second, sensing something was off
The 30-second clip rapidly spread online and sparked various reactions on social media. On X, one post read, “UPSC Topper IAS Tina Dabi ji at the Republic Day flag hoisting ceremony at Barmer collectorate office,” and the video quickly gained traction. While some netizens termed it a “protocol violation”, with comments such as “That lousy salute”, some laughed it off as an honest mistake. One comment joked about “forgetting the basics after studying 18 hours a day,” while another simply called it “shameless.” Some people even criticised Tina Dabi that such slips are inappropriate during national events.

Responding to the criticism, Tina Dabi clarified that the lapse was unintentional and stemmed from momentary confusion during a tightly packed schedule, adding that it was noticed and corrected immediately, ABP reported. Who is Tina Dhabi?
Tina Dhabi is no stranger to public attention and the district collector of Barmer became a viral sensation on Republic Day after a brief moment during the flag unfurling ceremony. Born in November 1993 in Madhya Pradesh, she moved to Delhi as a teenager and went on to create history by securing All India Rank 1 in the Civil Services Examination in 2015. Tina Dabi was born into a family of officers. Her father, Jaswant Dabi, worked in the Indian Telecommunication Service. Her mother, Himali Dabi, was an Indian Engineering Services officer before retiring to raise her daughters. She has a younger sister, Ria Dabi, who also became an IAS officer in 2020.Tina Dabi is a celebrated IAS officer who topped the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2015 at the age of 22. Since then, her career and personal life have often made headlines. She was married to IAS officer Athar Aamir Khan in 2018 who secured Rank 2 in the same UPSC exam she topped in 2015, divorced in 2021, and later married IPS officer Pradeep Gawande. The couple now have a son.
