Who won yesterday's match? Rajasthan Royals continued their flawless run in IPL 2026, chasing down 202 with ease against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Guwahati. They won by six wickets with two overs remaining, powered by a stunning powerplay assault and a composed finish, making it four wins in four matches.

The chase was effectively sealed in the first six overs itself. Rajasthan raced to 97/1 in the powerplay, their highest ever, leaving Bengaluru chasing shadows despite crossing 200 earlier in the night.

Yesterday IPL Match Result: Sooryavanshi explodes early, Jurel finishes calmly

There are quick starts, and then there is what Vaibhav Sooryavanshi delivered. The 15-year-old once again stunned the opposition with a 15-ball half-century, smashing seven sixes at a strike rate nearing 300. He did not pick bowlers — he dominated everyone.

His strokeplay stood out for control as much as aggression. Whether it was pulls or lofted drives, he maintained balance while scoring at a breakneck pace. At the other end, Dhruv Jurel played the perfect foil. He did not rush but ensured the momentum never dipped.

By the end of the powerplay, the match had already tilted heavily in Rajasthan’s favour.

Even when Krunal Pandya removed Sooryavanshi and Shimron Hetmyer in a single over, the chase never slipped. Jurel adjusted his tempo smartly, first consolidating and then accelerating. His unbeaten 81 guided Rajasthan home without drama.

A steady 68-run partnership with Ravindra Jadeja further ensured there were no late surprises, even though Jadeja had a few nervy moments at the crease.

Rajasthan’s dominance is also visible in the Orange Cap race, where Sooryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jurel occupy the top spots — turning the leaderboard distinctly pink.

Yesterday IPL match: Patidar anchors, but RCB lose control in middle overs

After a 75-minute delay, Royal Challengers Bengaluru were asked to bat first and had a mixed outing. Jofra Archer struck early, dismissing Phil Salt and setting the tone.

Virat Kohli responded aggressively with a quick 32 off 16 balls, keeping Bengaluru ahead in the powerplay. But the innings lost direction soon after.

From 61/3, wickets fell regularly. Ravi Bishnoi’s double strike slowed the scoring, and the middle overs became a phase of rebuilding rather than acceleration.

Rajat Patidar held the innings together with a well-paced 63 off 40 balls. He started cautiously but opened up later, especially against pace. His hitting in the 15th over helped Bengaluru regain some momentum.

A late push from Venkatesh Iyer, who remained unbeaten on 29, lifted the total past 200. Still, it felt slightly short on a batting-friendly surface where Rajasthan made the chase look effortless.

IPL Points Table: Points table after yesterday's match, Rajasthan at the top

Rajasthan Royals now sit comfortably at the top with four wins from four matches and a strong net run rate. Bengaluru, despite a competitive total, drop points and remain in the upper half but with concerns around their bowling consistency.
