Veena Kapoor was a popular face in the television industry. Her son Sachin Kapoor murdered her in early December over a property dispute. Police arrested him, and as per reports, he confessed to the crime. Nilu Kohli, a colleague of Veena Kapoor, filed a complaint to the police regarding the same.

For more than a decade, Veena Kapoor has worked in different daily soaps. She started her journey in early 2000 with some prominent roles in TV soaps, such as Ajooni, Bandhan Pheron Ke, Meri Bhabhi, Dal: The Gang, etc. She came to know and work with Nilu Kohli in the serial Meri Bhabi; from then, they became good friends. But during the pandemic, they lost touch.

The reason behind the murder

Sachin Kapoor wanted to acquire land owned by his mother, Veena Kapoor. The cost of the land is about Rs 15 crore. Sachin came to her mother’s flat in Juhu and told her to hand over the land to him. Over time, an argument started, and in the heat of the moment, Sachin hit his mother over the head with a baseball bat repeatedly. She died on the spot.


Sachin disposed of the body in a river in a cardboard box almost 90 km from the flat. Chhotu, the house help, helped him with the body disposal. They are currently in police custody.
