Who is Yash Pratap Singh? UP Board Class 10 exam 2025 topper with 98% marks, son of Indian Army personnel

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) declared the results for the 2025 Class 10 and 12 board examinations on April 25. Yash Pratap Singh, a student of Sita Inter College in Barabanki, topped the Class 10 results with 97.67%, scoring 586 out of 600 marks. A total of 25,56,992 students appeared for the Class 10 exams, and the overall pass percentage stood at 90.11%.

The results for both classes were made available on the official UPMSP websites — upmsp.edu.in and upresults.nic.in — and also through DigiLocker and SMS.

Yash shares top rank with two others

Yash Pratap Singh’s score was matched by two other students — Anshi and Abhishek Yadav — who also secured 97.67%. The third position went to Ritu Garg, Arpit Verma, and Simran Gupta, each scoring 97.50%.


Speaking about his performance, Yash said, “I followed a disciplined study schedule, prepared self-study notes, and listened to my teachers’ advice.”

Yash comes from a modest family, father an Armyman

Yash comes from a modest family. His father, Subedar Om Prakash Singh, is serving in the Indian Army, and his mother is a housewife. He credited his success to consistent hard work and dedication.

Girls lead Boys again

The board noted that girls had outperformed boys in 2024, and this trend is expected to continue in 2025. Last year, the overall Class 10 pass percentage was 89.55%, slightly lower than this year.

Over 25 lakh students appeared in Class 12

Alongside the Class 10 results, the UP Board also announced the Class 12 results. A total of 25,77,733 students had registered for the Intermediate exams. The pass percentage for Class 12 this year is 81.15%.
