Who is Vijayapriya Nithyananda? All about self proclaimed Kailasa’s ‘Permanent Member to UN’

Nithyananda took to Twitter on Tuesday, claiming that ‘Ma Vijayapriya Nithyananda’ represented his self-declared ‘virtual sovereign state’ Kailasa at the United Nations (UN). He shared a few pictures and videos of a saffron-clad woman with a rudraksh and a tika on her forehead.

These pictures were clicked earlier this week at a meeting of the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) in Geneva, Switzerland held on February 22, 2023. The caption to a post on this thread appreciating the international community's display of flags at the UN symbolising a deep commitment to advancing global peace, cooperation and fostering a more equitable and just world.




Nithyananda, after being accused of kidnapping and rape, fled from India and has been holding grand-scale shows since then. He claims to have made a country named ‘United State of Kailasa’ (USK) in 2019, where the people follow the Hindu beliefs of lifestyle. In his post, he claims that the woman is a ‘Permanent Ambassador of Kailasa to the UN’. Despite his claims, there is no solid evidence to validate the existence of the ‘United State of Kailasa’.

The UN ignored his remarks stating that the suggestions made by self-proclaimed ‘Kailasa’ delegates would not be taken into account. A UN official remarked that their submissions were ‘irrelevant’ and ‘tangential’ to the issues that were being discussed. The Indian government has not issued a public statement yet.

The woman, referred to as ‘Ma’ or mother in the post, is a graduate from University of Manitoba, Canada. According to her LinkedIn profile, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology degree in the year 2014.
