Netflix has unveiled the teaser of its upcoming reality series Desi Bling, shining a spotlight on the ultra-luxurious lifestyles of Indian expats in Dubai. Amid the glamour and grand displays of wealth, one revelation has particularly caught viewers’ attention — a businessman who reportedly gifts his wife three kilograms of gold every year. Here’s a closer look at the couple behind the viral moment.

The man in focus is Satish Sanpal. In the teaser, his wife Tabinda Sanpal casually reveals that he buys her 3 kg of gold annually — a statement that quickly sparked conversations online.

British-Pakistani entrepreneur Tabinda is known for her refined style and sharp business sense. A prominent face within Dubai’s elite South Asian circles, she blends luxury living with entrepreneurial ambition. With formal education in business and finance, she is far more than a social media personality. Tabinda plays an active strategic role in the family’s ventures, contributing to the growth of their expanding empire.

Who is Satish Sanpal?

Originally from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Satish Sanpal moved to Dubai at a young age and went on to build a diversified business empire spanning real estate, hospitality, finance, and media. He currently heads ANAX Holding, a conglomerate reportedly valued at around $3 billion.

Under its umbrella operate several verticals, including luxury property development and premium hospitality ventures. Over the years, Sanpal has established himself as a prominent name in Dubai’s business landscape.

In the show’s teaser, he states, “Money is not God, but it is not less than God either,” a remark that reflects his unapologetic philosophy toward wealth creation.

From school dropout to business magnate

Sanpal’s journey began far from the glitz of Dubai. In an interview with National News, he revealed that he left school after the eighth grade and entered the business world at just 15. With Rs 50,000 borrowed from his mother, he started a small grocery shop. Although the venture eventually suffered losses, the experience laid the foundation for his entrepreneurial path.

He later moved into the stock market as a commission-based intermediary, connecting investors with brokers. Determined to expand his horizons, he relocated to Dubai — a decision that proved transformative. Sanpal has often emphasised that he has never worked under anyone, attributing his rise to independence, risk-taking, and persistence.

His personal net worth is estimated to be around Rs 500 crore.

A lifestyle defined by luxury

Sanpal’s penchant for high-end automobiles frequently makes headlines. In 2023, he reportedly added a Bugatti Chiron worth approximately Rs 35 crore to his collection. He has also gifted luxury vehicles to his children, including a white Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge for his son Lakshya.

His daughter Isabella drew global attention after receiving a customised pink Rolls-Royce Phantom, reportedly valued at nearly Rs 5.8 crore, with bespoke modifications further enhancing its exclusivity.

Beyond luxury cars, the family is known for hosting extravagant celebrations. Isabella’s first birthday was a star-studded affair featuring performances by Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, along with appearances by Tamannaah Bhatia, Nora Fatehi, and members of the Dubai Bling cast — a celebration that reflected the family’s larger-than-life image.
