Born on March 5, 1955, he was destined for music as the son of the legendary Mandolin player, Pazhani.He didn't start as a director; he was a craftsman of the guitar. He began his journey in 1971, playing for music director Vijay Bhaskar. After years of assisting in Kannada and Malayalam cinema—including working with legends like Raghavan Master—he finally stepped into the spotlight as an independent music director with the 1985 film Janakeeya Kodathi.
