Khan, who was part of the company’s Internal Committee under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, has been accused of failing to act on repeated complaints by employees.

A widening investigation into alleged sexual harassment and coercion at a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) BPO unit in Nashik has brought the spotlight firmly on Nida Khan, an HR manager at the facility, who now finds herself at the centre of the controversy.

The case, which has already led to nine FIRs and multiple arrests—including that of a senior HR official—has raised serious questions about workplace safety and the functioning of internal grievance mechanisms. Khan, who was part of the company’s Internal Committee under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, has been accused of failing to act on repeated complaints by employees.

According to investigators, several complainants alleged that instances of harassment and misconduct were brought to the attention of HR but were either ignored or not escalated to higher authorities. This alleged inaction is now a key focus of the probe, with authorities examining whether mandatory POSH protocols were violated.

As per reports citing her LinkedIn profile, Nida Khan is an alumna of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). She was working in a managerial HR role at the Nashik office, a position that placed her at the frontline of handling employee grievances and ensuring compliance with workplace safety norms.

The controversy is part of a larger investigation that began after a tip-off prompted police to launch a covert operation inside the TCS unit. Officers reportedly posed as housekeeping staff for weeks, monitoring internal interactions—an exercise that eventually led to multiple complaints surfacing.

On April 8, Nashik Police confirmed the arrest of six employees in connection with various sexual offence cases. These include allegations of sexual exploitation under the pretext of marriage, sexual harassment, and outraging the modesty of women. The first FIR was registered on March 26 at Devlali Camp police station, with subsequent cases filed at Mumbai Naka police station.

All six accused are currently in judicial custody at Nashik Road Central Prison, while another accused remains absconding. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is continuing its probe, examining digital evidence and workplace records.

Meanwhile, Nashik district authorities have ordered a joint inquiry to assess whether the company adhered to mandatory POSH guidelines and maintained adequate safeguards for employees.
