Who is Dr. Anahita Pandole, driver of Mercedes in which Cyrus Mistry died

Former Tata Sons' Chairman Cyrus Mistry and another family friend Jahangir Pandole died in a road accident yesterday. Cyrus was accompanied by three others family friends, brothers Darius and Jehangir Pandole, and Darius Pandole's wife Anahita Pandole. Anahita Pandole and her husband Darius Pandole, sitting on the front seats, survived the crash, while Mistry and Jahangir Pandole, sitting at the back, died in the accident.

Who is Anahita Pandole?
Anahita Pandole, 55, was driving the silver Mercedes. She is a top gynaecologist of Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital. She has 32 years of experience as a gynaecologist. She is also associated with Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, BD Petit Parsee General Hospital, and Masina Hospital.


Pandole completed her MBBS from Topiwala National Medical College & BYL Nair Charitable Hospital in 1990, following which she completed her MD-Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 1994 from the same college.

She started The Bombay Parsi Panchyet Fertility Project, in 2004 to address the population decline issue in the Parsi community. This provides state-of-the-art fertility medical facilities to Parsi couples at subsidized rates.

Anahita Pandole, 55, was involved in a campaign against illegal hoardings. She was also one of the founders of Jiyo Parsi, an initiative to contain the population decline among the Parsi community.
