Arvid Lindblad, 18-year-old F1 rookie is set to race for Racing Bulls, sister team of Red Bull, in 2026.
Red Bull 2026 line-up was confirmed yesterday. Racing Bulls announced that 18‑year‑old British‑Swedish driver Arvid Lindblad will make his Formula 1 debut next season. With French driver Isack Hadjar promoted to partner Max Verstappen at Red Bull Racing, Lindblad will join Liam Lawson at Racing Bulls, becoming the only rookie on the 2026 grid.

Lindblad is set to become one of the youngest drivers on the grid. He started karting at age five, joined the Red Bull Junior Team at 13, and climbed steadily through junior categories, showcasing speed and maturity that convinced Red Bull to grant him a race seat.

An Indian connection on the F1 grid

Beyond his racing credentials, Lindblad’s mother is of Indian descent, a heritage he has previously acknowledged as part of his identity. Although he races under the British flag, his lineage gives him resonance with fans across continents — a rare example of multicultural representation in Formula 1. Lindblad himself posted online earlier this year "proud to have maternal ancestral roots" in India.

With Red Bull and Racing Bulls finalising their driver lineup, the 2026 Formula 1 grid is now officially set: Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar will drive for Red Bull Racing, while Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad will race for Racing Bulls. Veteran driver Yuki Tsunoda loses his full‑time seat but remains with Red Bull in a reserve/test role.

Across the other teams — McLaren, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Mercedes, Audi (formerly Sauber), Cadillac, Williams and the rest — contracts and announcements indicate their lineups are confirmed under the new technical rules. This means 2026 kicks off with an unprecedented mix of seasoned champions, rising stars and fresh talent.
