Who is Anshula Kapoor? Boney Kapoor's daughter from his first marriage, who skipped Bollywood and worked at Google, is now married

Anshula Kapoor and Rohan Thakkar are married. The couple tied the knot on 6 July 2026 at Taj Lands End in Mumbai, in what the family described as an intimate, one-day celebration. The ceremony was followed by a cocktail party, with close family members, friends and several guests from the Hindi film industry in attendance.

Sharing photographs from the wedding on Instagram, Anshula wrote: "Of all the people. Of all the places. Of all the timing. It was you. And somehow, through every twist, detour, and surprise, it is still you. My favourite conversation. My safest place. My easiest choice. Always you."

In the photographs, Anshula wore a peach lehenga paired with a golden scarf and statement jewellery. Rohan was in an ivory and gold sherwani.

Who is Anshula Kapoor?

Anshula is the daughter of film producer Boney Kapoor and the late Mona Shourie Kapoor, and sister of actor Arjun Kapoor. Boney Kapoor later married the late actress Sridevi, and they had two daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor.

Despite growing up in one of Bollywood's most prominent families, Anshula did not pursue a career in acting. She studied at Barnard College in New York and went on to work at Google in Gurugram, then at Exceed Entertainment, and later as Operations Manager at Hrithik Roshan's fitness brand HRX.

In 2019, she founded Fankind, a celebrity-based fundraising platform that connects fans with their favourite stars while supporting charitable causes. She has since built a parallel career as a social media influencer and brand collaborator, and most recently appeared on The Traitors, a reality series hosted by Karan Johar and streaming on Prime Video.

Who is Rohan Thakkar?

Rohan Thakkar is a screenwriter and director who currently works as a freelance screenwriter for Dharmatic Entertainment, the digital content arm of Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.

He studied advertising and marketing at FLAME University before training in screenplay writing at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. He has writing credits on several short films, including The Novelist (2016), Never Too Late (2016) and Nimbus (2018). Before his work at Dharma, he worked as a social media marketing executive and copywriter at Grey Group, and later as an executive assistant at talent management firm Next Level Entertainment Global in Los Angeles.

How they met

Anshula and Rohan first connected on a dating app in 2022. After about a year of dating, Anshula made the relationship public through an Instagram post.

The engagement happened in October 2025 during a trip to New York City. Rohan proposed in front of a castle in Central Park at 1.15 am India time — the same time the two had their very first conversation three years earlier. Anshula later described the timing as deeply personal and not a coincidence she could ignore.

The pre-wedding celebrations in Mumbai included a maata ki chowki, a mehendi ceremony and a chooda ceremony, with Anshula's sisters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor among those present.
