Who is Abrar Ahmed? Pakistan’s new mystery spinner and Harry Potter's look alike. Read here
Abrar Ahmed recovered from mimicking Sunil Narine, not knowing Pakistan's finest spinner, suffering a career-threatening stress fracture, and being snubbed by PSL clubs to dominate the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and make his Test debut for Pakistan again...

However, in 1977, his father relocated to Karachi, where he grew up playing tape-ball cricket. He has always been interested in the sport and thrived as a youngster. His own brother admits that he used to identify flaws in the games of major players. He used to do the same as a beginner, which is astounding.

Abrar took 53 wickets in Zonal U-19 in Karachi in 2016. Muhammad Masroor, then a fielding coach with Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League, forwarded his footage to Rashid Latif, the franchise's director of cricket. Abrar then wore Masroor's direction. Masroor took him in stride and handled him as if he were his own ward. Abrar emerged as one of Karachi's rising PSL choices in 2017. Following the PSL, Abrar sustained a stage-five stress fracture and was sidelined for two years.
Mushtaq Ahmed, the then-head coach of Pakistan's National Cricket Academy in Lahore, asked Abrar Ahmed five years ago, "Do you know who Abdul Qadir is?" " He replied, "Who is he, never heard his name?" Abrar's comments sparked tremendous controversy in his name.
Recovering from controversy and physical issues, Abrar set fire to the 2022-23 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Taking 43 wickets at a strike rate of 21.95. The second-best total was a paltry 31. In seven matches, Abrar took five five-wickets, earning him a Test call-up against England.
Regardless of bowling, the narrative of this tape-ball street bowler whose career was nearly cut short by injury and who has since gone on to become one of Pakistan's top spinners is worthy of a book, a Netflix documentary, or even a full film.
